An Emerson College Polling survey released Friday found that Democrats have a 10-point lead over Republicans on a generic congressional ballot, with 52 percent support compared to 42 percent for the GOP, The Hill reported.

This polling data reflects the current battle for control of Congress as the two parties prepare for next week's midterm election.

The margin is slightly narrower than a previous 11-point lead held by Democrats, indicating some tightening in the race as Election Day approaches.
