E-bike rider hospitalized after collision with truck on Miramar Road

A 53-year-old man riding an e-bike was hospitalized with serious injuries following a collision with a Ford F-650 truck in Sorrento Valley, according to FOX 5 San Diego.

The incident occurred on Miramar Road where the e-bike rider was traveling westbound in the bike lane. The truck was driving parallel in the No. 2 lane and turned right into a business driveway, crossing the e-bike's path.

The collision caused the rider to fall under the truck, ending up beneath the rear axle. The San Diego Police Department reported the man sustained multiple rib fractures, a collapsed lung, and a chest wall injury requiring surgery.

Emergency responders transported the rider to a local hospital. His injuries, while severe, are not considered life-threatening, FOX 5 San Diego reported.
