WITN reported that Elizabeth City and surrounding areas will experience unseasonably warm weather this week, with afternoon highs reaching the mid 70s.

Wednesday will bring some clouds but no rain, and temperatures will rise from the mid 50s in the morning to the mid 70s by afternoon.

The forecast indicates little change through the end of the week, maintaining partly cloudy skies and continued warm highs in the mid to upper 70s.

Halloween day is expected to be dry with highs in the mid 70s, and evening temperatures for trick-or-treaters will be in the upper 60s.

Residents are advised that rip current risks will be high along North Carolina beaches from Cape Hatteras northward, though this does not directly affect Elizabeth City.
