The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Miami-Dade County and surrounding areas including Broward and Palm Beach counties. This alert is in effect until Monday afternoon, warning residents of possible flooding caused by excessive rainfall.

The watch covers coastal and inland areas of Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. The NWS notes that scattered locations along the east coast may receive 3 to 5 inches of rain, with isolated spots possibly seeing 5 to 7 inches over a few hours.

Potential impacts include isolated to scattered flash flooding, street flooding, road closures, and limited effects on structures in flood-prone areas. The highest rainfall amounts and impacts remain uncertain, especially if heavy rain coincides with high tide near the coast.

Residents are advised to stay informed through official sources and take precautions to avoid flooded roads and areas. The National Weather Service recommends visiting their flood safety webpage for guidance on protecting life and property during flooding events.
