The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a flood watch for parts of east central Florida, including Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Lake counties, until 7 PM Wednesday evening.

This watch means flooding caused by excessive rainfall remains possible in the area. Additional rain of 1 to 2 inches could increase flooding risks, especially in locations prone to flooding such as rivers, creeks, streams, low-lying areas, and urban zones with poor drainage.

Residents in the affected counties are advised to stay alert for potential flooding and avoid areas that are prone to flooding. The NWS recommends monitoring local forecasts and being prepared to take action if flooding occurs.

For safety information, the National Weather Service directs the public to their flood safety webpage at weather.gov/safety/flood.
