Brevard Public Schools announced the closure of all schools on Monday due to flooding and severe weather conditions in Central Florida, FOX 35 Orlando reported. The district emphasized safety as the top priority and advised caution around flooded roadways.

A flood watch is in effect through 7 p.m. for all of east Central Florida, with an expected 1 to 3 inches of additional rain, according to FOX 35 Orlando. Saturated soils in Brevard County and surrounding areas increase the risk of localized flash flooding.

WKMG News 6 ClickOrlando added that the closures extended to all courts in Brevard County, including the State Attorney’s Office. Brightline train service between Orlando and West Palm Beach was temporarily suspended due to high water along the rail corridor in Brevard County.

Health First Medical Group closed all its locations Monday morning in Brevard County, with plans to reopen in the afternoon. Several roads in the county, including parts of Minton Road, were closed due to flooding, and officials urged residents to avoid flooded areas.

The ongoing flood watch and severe weather conditions are expected to continue through the day, with officials monitoring the situation closely to ensure public safety.

Residents in the Orlando area should stay informed about weather updates and exercise caution while traveling, especially in flood-prone areas.
