Driver flees after pursuit on State Road 50 in Orange County

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a driver fled during a pursuit and abandoned a vehicle near State Road 408.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a pursuit ended Saturday when a driver fled after being spotted driving recklessly on State Road 50 in Orange County. Troopers attempted to stop a 2026 BMW M340i, but the driver evaded them by crossing the median and maneuvering around heavy traffic before abandoning the vehicle.

The vehicle was later found on Rouse Road near State Road 408 without the driver present. Both the Florida Highway Patrol and Orange County Sheriff's Office conducted air and ground searches but were unable to locate the suspect.

The car has been impounded as evidence, and an investigation is ongoing. Authorities have not released the driver's identity and stated that a name will only be made public if an arrest is made.
