Powhatan Tech Park data center site sells for nearly $10M
A 180-acre site approved for a large data center campus on the Powhatan-Chesterfield line has been sold to Vantage Data Centers.
A 180-acre site on the Powhatan-Chesterfield line approved for a data center campus has been purchased by an entity linked to Vantage Data Centers, a Colorado-based firm, Richmond BizSense reported. The site, known as Powhatan Tech Park, was acquired for about $9.4 million last month.
The property, primarily located at 1318 Page Road, was initially approved two years ago for a 120-acre data center project proposed by California-based Province Group. In October 2025, approval was granted to add 60 more acres, bringing the total campus size to 180 acres.
The planned development could include up to four detached data center buildings totaling 2 million square feet, making it the largest data center project ever proposed in Powhatan County, according to county staff reports cited by Richmond BizSense.
The sale closed on October 21, with $5.7 million paid for the original 120-acre tract and $3.65 million for the additional 60-acre parcel. The buyer, Powhatan Technology Park LLC, confirmed the purchase but stated they are still evaluating future development opportunities and will share more details as planning progresses.
The site is located on the east side of Page Road, just north of Anderson Highway, adjacent to Chesterfield County. Vantage Data Centers expressed interest in engaging with local stakeholders and the community during the planning process.
