Luka Doncic shines with 45 points and 15 rebounds as Lakers beat Toronto Raptors in close game.
Luka Doncic led the Los Angeles Lakers to a 131-125 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night, scoring 45 points along with a season-high 15 rebounds, six assists, and five steals, CBS News Los Angeles reported.
Doncic hit eight 3-pointers and scored at least 37 points for the fourth consecutive game, maintaining his lead in the NBA scoring race. He reached 40 or more points for the 20th time in his 98 regular-season games with the Lakers.
The Lakers built a strong lead of 102-76 late in the third quarter, but the Raptors narrowed the gap before Doncic and Austin Reaves led a quick 9-1 rally. Reaves contributed 19 points, and Walker Kessler added 16 points and 15 rebounds for the Lakers.
Toronto's Scottie Barnes scored 29 points and RJ Barrett added 22 in the game. Kawhi Leonard missed his fourth straight game due to a knee injury and will not play in the upcoming game at Intuit Dome.
Cameron Carr, the Lakers' first-round pick, made his NBA debut in the final minutes after missing the first six games with an oblique injury. The Lakers bounced back well after a recent loss to Golden State.
This win keeps the Lakers competitive as they continue their season, with Doncic's outstanding performance a key factor in their success.
