The deadline to register to vote online for the Nov. 3 general election in California was October 19, but residents of Los Angeles can still register through the same-day voter registration process, the Los Angeles Times reported.

To be eligible, voters must be U.S. citizens, California residents, at least 18 years old on election day, not serving a felony prison term, and not declared mentally incompetent by a court. Those who missed the online deadline can register as conditional voters at county elections offices, polling places, or vote centers up to and including election day.

New U.S. citizens who became citizens fewer than 15 days before the election can also register by visiting their county elections office before polls close on November 3, providing proof of citizenship and signing a form confirming eligibility.

The application requires a state driver’s license or California ID card number, or the last four digits of a Social Security number. If applicants lack these, they will be assigned a unique identifier to validate their registration.

Los Angeles County early voting centers are open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through November 2, and all polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on election day, according to the Los Angeles County registrar-recorder/county clerk’s office.

Voters can request election information in multiple languages including English, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Tagalog, Thai, or Vietnamese through phone or online resources provided by the county.
