Nikki M. James and Rory O’Malley have returned to the Eugene O’Neill Theatre on Broadway to reprise their roles in 'The Book of Mormon,' marking their first time back since leaving the show during Barack Obama's second presidential term, WKMG News 6 ClickOrlando reported.

James noted that despite the 12 years since her last performance there, some things remain unchanged, such as a clogged sink in her dressing room. Both actors expressed a surreal feeling about returning to a show they love and performing for audiences seeing it for the first time.

The pair will continue in their original roles until January 17. 'The Book of Mormon' originally opened in 2011 and became a cultural phenomenon, telling the story of two Mormon missionaries in Uganda encountering unexpected challenges, according to WKMG News 6 ClickOrlando.

James and O’Malley acknowledged that the world has changed significantly since their last run, with shifts in discourse around race, religion, comedy, and artistic responsibility. Both have had notable career achievements since, including Tony nominations and roles in major productions.

Despite their extensive experience with over 800 performances each, they admitted feeling nervous about returning, highlighting the unique significance of this show in their careers.
