Miami Dolphins launch month-long Jason Jenkins Days of Service in October
The Dolphins honor late executive Jason Jenkins with community projects across South Florida throughout October.
The Miami Dolphins have announced the start of the fourth annual Football UNITES™ Jason Jenkins Days of Service, a month-long series of community service projects held each October to honor the late Jason Jenkins. Jenkins was the Dolphins' senior vice president of communications and community affairs and dedicated much of his life to serving the South Florida community, CBS News Miami reported.
This year's initiative includes eight high-impact service projects across the tri-county area and will conclude on October 30, which would have been Jenkins' 52nd birthday. The events bring together Dolphins players, staff, alumni, and partners from Hard Rock Stadium, the Miami Open, and the Formula 1 Hard Rock Miami Grand Prix, along with community members and officials.
The program continues the mission of Football UNITES™, which Jenkins created to unite people through football while supporting economic and academic advancement in South Florida. The kickoff event took place at Global Empowerment Mission in Doral, where volunteers assembled necessity kits for families affected by natural disasters.
Jenkins joined the Dolphins in 2009 and led many community initiatives, including the Miami Dolphins Academy and the Dolphins Cancer Challenge. He passed away unexpectedly in August 2022, and the Dolphins honor his legacy annually through this month-long service initiative.
Community members are encouraged to participate in the various service projects throughout October to continue Jenkins' impact on South Florida.
