Florida ranks No. 28 and UCLA No. 5 in all-time AP men's basketball poll

Florida currently holds the No. 28 spot in Liz Powell's all-time AP Men's Basketball Poll, which aggregates every weekly Associated Press poll since 1949 into a historical ranking, Yahoo Sports reported. The ranking system awards points based on weekly positions, with No. 1 worth 25 points, down to one point for No. 25.

Florida enters the 2026-27 season as the No. 1 team in the preseason AP poll, a ranking already factored into the all-time calculation. The Gators' rise follows their 2025 national championship and sustained high rankings, contributing to their historical point total.

UCLA ranks No. 5 in the same all-time AP poll, according to Yahoo Sports. The Bruins have been No. 1 in 134 different AP polls, the second-most behind Duke, and have appeared in 749 of 1,322 total polls, the fifth most for any school.

The top four schools ahead of UCLA in the all-time poll are Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, and Kansas, all of which have strong NCAA title histories. UCLA's position reflects its 11 NCAA titles, the most of any school.

Other notable rankings include Arizona at No. 6 and several Big Ten schools such as Indiana (No. 8) and Michigan State (No. 9). Florida's and UCLA's current rankings and historical performance highlight their sustained national relevance in college basketball.
