Glenn Hughes, the former singer and bassist for Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, is recovering at home following a 10-hour open-heart surgery. The 75-year-old spent eight days at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center in Westwood, Los Angeles, before sharing a hopeful update on social media.

Hughes expressed gratitude to Dr. Richard Shemin, UCLA’s head of cardiac surgery, and the medical team involved in his care. He noted that he is gradually regaining his energy as he moves forward in recovery.

The rock vocalist also shared a message encouraging patience and acceptance during difficult times, suggesting that challenges can offer opportunities for personal growth. He reassured fans by stating, “All is well.”

Fans and fellow musicians have sent messages of support to Hughes. His health update follows his August announcement that he would retire from touring due to medical advice recommending another open-heart operation after various tests.
