Hatsan recalls air rifles sold nationwide including Florida for misfire risk
Two Hatsan air rifle models sold in Florida recalled due to risk of unexpected firing causing injury.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of approximately 16,170 Hatsan Blitz and Blitz 777 air rifles due to a misfire hazard, according to fox10phoenix.com. The rifles can fire unexpectedly if the bolt is released before the air rifle is fully cocked, posing a serious injury or death risk.
These gas-operated, select-fire pre-charged pneumatic pellet rifles come in .22, .25, and .30 calibers and feature a synthetic stock with a carbon fiber air tank beneath the barrel. They were sold in sporting goods stores and gun shops nationwide, including online sales that serve Florida customers.
The recalled air rifles were sold between February 2020 and March 2026, priced between $800 and $1,100. The CPSC urges owners to stop using the rifles immediately and ensure they are unloaded to prevent accidental discharge.
Owners in Florida and elsewhere can contact HatsanUSA toll-free or via email to receive a free trigger assembly replacement. The company provides instructions for the replacement to mitigate the misfire risk.
