Heavy rainfall over nearly three days has led to significant flooding in parts of Broward and Miami-Dade counties, including the Davie neighborhood of Paradise Village, WSVN 7News reported. Flood advisories remain in effect as streets and homes are submerged due to overflowing water bodies and backed-up canals.

In Davie's Paradise Village, located near West State Road 84 and Flamingo Road, a nearby lake overflowed, causing streets to flood and forcing officials to place caution tape to mark the water's edge, according to 7News. Some homes were surrounded by water, making it difficult for residents to leave their properties.

Residents described the flooding as severe, with some saying it has lasted for days since the rain began. Vehicles have struggled to navigate the flooded streets, and families have faced disruptions such as children being unable to attend school. One local noted that the lake should be drained before heavy rains to prevent recurring flooding.

The flooding also impacted a polling site in Paradise Village, which had to be relocated to Tree Tops Park due to water accumulation. Maintenance crews indicated that the drainage canal is currently backed up, exacerbating the flooding conditions.

CBS News Miami reported that in Broward County, areas including Davie, Plantation, and Weston saw roads transformed into lake-like conditions as torrential rain continued. Authorities advise motorists to avoid driving through flooded streets to ensure safety.
