Flooding near I-75 and I-595 in Davie leaves residents stranded
Heavy flooding in Davie near I-75 and I-595 has trapped residents and caused dangerous road conditions.
CBS News Miami reported that flooding near the intersection of I-75 and I-595 in Davie has persisted for two days, leaving residents stranded and roads submerged. Robert Hughson, a local resident, described water levels reaching over a foot deep in some areas, making driving unsafe and damaging to vehicles.
Hughson and his family have been unable to leave their home due to the flooding. Several neighbors have parked their cars on higher ground outside the subdivision to avoid getting stuck. Hughson advised residents to park and walk if necessary to avoid being trapped by rising waters.
Other residents reported flooded roads and dikes between Griffin and Stirling in Southwest Ranches, with some drivers getting stuck or forced to turn around due to deep water. One driver recounted making a U-turn to avoid dangerously deep water where 'no U-turn' signs were posted.
Neighbors urge caution and recommend avoiding driving through flooded areas to prevent vehicle damage and personal risk. The situation remains ongoing as residents monitor water levels and wait for the flooding to recede.
