A 75-year-old husband has chosen to stay in a marriage of 45 years despite his wife's treatment-resistant depression and/or bipolar disorder, according to the Telegraph Herald.

The wife has been undergoing treatment of various kinds for 30 years. Mental health professionals and close friends have advised the husband to leave the relationship to protect his own mental health.

However, the husband has not left, citing his vow to stay and his wife's dependence on him, as reported by the Telegraph Herald.
