A video circulating on social media shows a black SUV striking a man, later identified as Antonio Moreida, causing him to flip over and fall to the ground, Newsweek reported.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) denied that an ICE vehicle hit a pedestrian, stating that an "agitator" jumped onto the hood of the vehicle and slid off after the driver applied the brakes, according to Newsweek.

Moreida spoke at the City of Woodland Council, near Sacramento, saying he was trying to document suspected ICE activity and to keep track of the agency's presence to protect the community, KXTV-TV Sacramento reported.

This incident has drawn condemnation from lawmakers demanding answers, with supporters of ICE citing dangers faced by agents and critics calling for independent investigations and transparency in immigration operations involving civilian injuries or deaths, Newsweek noted.
