A man was arrested for allegedly pistol-whipping the adult son of rapper Rick Ross, according to NBC 6 Miami. The incident occurred near Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, where the 21-year-old victim was standing with a woman on a sidewalk.

The victim told Daytona Police that the suspect, Don Roberts, pulled up in a vehicle and yelled a phrase believed to refer to the woman, who had a past relationship with the suspect. Roberts then exited the vehicle, pointed a gun at the victim, and struck him on the right side of his head.

The victim fled the scene immediately but did not report the assault to police until the following day due to fear. After filing a report, he identified Roberts from a photo lineup. Roberts later turned himself in to police on October 16.

Roberts was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Following the report, rapper 50 Cent offered to bail Roberts out of jail, calling the incident a misunderstanding that could be resolved.

The victim's mother, Tia Kemp, also responded after 50 Cent posted the suspect's mugshot on social media, according to NBC 6 Miami.
