Former San Francisco 49ers player Jordan Elliott cut by Titans after gun incident
Jordan Elliott, who played for the San Francisco 49ers, was released by the Tennessee Titans following a practice incident involving a gun.
Jordan Elliott, a defensive tackle who previously played for the San Francisco 49ers, was released by the Tennessee Titans after an incident at the team's facility, according to reports from 700wlw.iheart.com and other iHeart outlets.
The incident occurred on October 15 during a practice scuffle between Elliott and offensive lineman JC Latham. Elliott was reportedly thrown out of practice and then went to his car to retrieve a gun, which he brought back to the practice field. A teammate helped de-escalate the situation.
Elliott did not play in the Titans' recent game against the Indianapolis Colts and was listed as not practicing for personal reasons. After reviewing the incident, the Titans decided to release him on the following Tuesday.
Elliott was a third-round draft pick in 2020 and has played in 102 career games with 65 starts, including time with the Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, and Tennessee Titans. Over his career, he has recorded 159 tackles, 14 quarterback hits, and five sacks.
