A 36-year-old man was charged in connection with a shooting on Market Street near the Powell Street BART Station in San Francisco that left four people seriously injured, KRON4 reported.

According to the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office and police, the incident occurred just before 1 a.m. on July 25 when the man was arguing with a woman. Bystanders tried to intervene to calm the situation, but the man fired multiple rounds at them.

The four victims were treated at a hospital for injuries described as non-life-threatening, the DA’s office said.

The accused, identified as Daronte Scott, faces several gun-related charges including assault with a semiautomatic firearm. Prosecutors are seeking to hold him without bail pending trial.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the San Francisco Police Department or submit tips via TIP411.
