Man dies in stabbing in Wheaton, Montgomery County police say

Montgomery County police are investigating a homicide after a man was fatally stabbed in Wheaton early Monday.

Montgomery County police responded to a reported stabbing shortly after midnight Monday in the 11300 block of Elkin Street in Wheaton, Maryland, WTOP reported.

Officers found a man who later died from his injuries at the scene. Police have classified the case as a homicide and are actively investigating.

No information about a suspect has been released, and no arrests have been made at this time. Authorities said the victim's name will be disclosed after family notification.

Residents in the Wheaton area are urged to report any information that could assist the investigation to Montgomery County police.
