Man fatally shot inside Capitol Heights home in early morning shooting

Prince George's County Police responded to a shooting report early Saturday morning at a home on Quire Avenue in Capitol Heights, according to FOX 5 DC.

Officers arrived around 4:35 a.m. and found an adult male inside the residence suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

Authorities have not released the victim's name, citing the need to notify next of kin. No suspect descriptions or arrests have been announced so far.

Homicide detectives remain on site investigating the circumstances and motive behind the shooting. The Prince George's County Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact their Homicide Unit.
