Manhunt underway for convicted murderer who escaped Tennessee prison

Jacob Morley, a convicted murderer, escaped from the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville, Tennessee, over the weekend, according to the Tennessee Department of Correction and multiple news reports including NBC News and CBS News.

Morley, 28, was serving a life sentence when he breached the perimeter fence of the medium-security prison before 11:30 p.m. Sunday, state prison officials said.

After escaping, Morley allegedly stole a white Ford F-350 flatbed truck in Tiptonville, a city of about 3,500 people located near the Mississippi River and the Missouri state line, about 100 miles north of Memphis, according to NBC News.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has placed Morley on its most-wanted list and is urging local residents to check home security cameras, doorbell cameras, and trail cameras for any sightings of Morley or the stolen truck.

Surveillance footage released by authorities shows a man in a beanie approaching the rear of the flatbed truck and entering the driver's side, as reported by NBC News.

The manhunt continues as law enforcement agencies search for Morley, who remains at large.

Authorities are asking the public to remain vigilant and report any information that could assist in locating the escapee.
