Trump offers $1 million reward for voter fraud tips leading to convictions
President Trump announced a $1 million reward for reports of voter fraud resulting in convictions in past and upcoming elections.
President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he is offering a $1 million reward to anyone who reports voter fraud in past elections or the upcoming 2026 midterm elections, according to NBC News and ABC News.
Trump stated the reward would be paid upon the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the fraud, but he did not specify where the funds for the payments would come from. The White House declined to provide further details, referring inquiries back to Trump's social media post.
Trump has previously made claims of widespread voter fraud, though no evidence supports such claims at a large scale. Both NBC News and ABC News noted that while isolated instances of voter fraud occur, there is no proof of systemic fraud affecting election outcomes.
In addition to the reward offer, Trump has pushed election reform legislation called the SAVE America Act, which includes voter ID requirements and proof of citizenship for registration. The House passed the bill earlier this year, but it has failed in the Senate multiple times.
Last week, Trump also announced a separate program offering tipsters a 1% commission of recovered government funds from fraud cases they help uncover, with the president deciding on financial rewards for tipsters.
