Homicide detectives in Baltimore have launched an investigation following a shooting in the Belair-Edison neighborhood Monday night, according to reports from wcbm.com and FOX45 Baltimore. Police responded to gunfire near the intersection of Belair Road and Clifton Park Terrace around 11:05 p.m., where multiple people were injured.

Officers found cartridge casings in the 3200 block of Belair Road and continued to discover evidence extending to Indian Head Drive, as reported by both outlets. The shooting adds to a series of violent incidents in the area over recent weeks, with several shootings involving multiple victims occurring within a short timeframe.

Investigators are working to make arrests related to five mass shootings that have taken place within five weeks, as noted by wcbm.com. The recent incident on Belair Road follows a double shooting on the same block earlier in October, where two women aged 20 and 22 were injured by gunfire.

Additional gunfire was reported in the area days before the latest shooting, with officers recovering cartridge casings near Clifton Park Terrace and Harwell Avenue on October 4. The ongoing violence has prompted increased police activity and homicide investigations in the Eastern District, according to FOX45 Baltimore.

Baltimore residents and authorities remain vigilant as investigations continue into these shootings, with police searching for evidence and potential suspects in the Belair-Edison neighborhood.
