My Chemical Romance's 'The Black Parade' hits No. 1 on Billboard after 20 years

NPR Music's Stephen Thompson reported that My Chemical Romance has achieved its first No. 1 album on the Billboard albums chart with "The Black Parade."

The band's album "The Black Parade," originally released in 2006, debuted and peaked at No. 2 at that time and remained their highest-charting album for two decades.

To mark the 20th anniversary of "The Black Parade," My Chemical Romance released a deluxe edition with bonus tracks and various vinyl and CD versions, which boosted sales significantly.

The band has been touring and performing songs from the album for months, contributing to renewed interest and sales.

This achievement set a new Billboard chart record for the longest gap—20 years—between an album's debut and its first week at No. 1, according to NPR Music.
