New Beatles attraction planned for Liverpool to open in 2028
Liverpool will open an expanded Beatles Story museum with immersive exhibits and sets from upcoming films.
Liverpool is set to welcome a new visitor attraction dedicated to The Beatles, aiming to boost tourism linked to the iconic band, ABC News reported.
Apple Corps Ltd., which manages The Beatles’ business interests, announced plans to expand The Beatles Story museum and relocate it from Liverpool’s docklands to the former St. John’s Market site near Lime Street train station. The new venue will span 100,000 square feet and is expected to open in 2028.
The attraction will feature immersive technology, original Beatles artifacts, and reconstructed sets that depict the band’s early years in Liverpool, their time performing in Hamburg, and their rise to global fame during Beatlemania.
Additionally, sets and props from Sam Mendes’ upcoming Beatles film quartet will recreate notable locations such as Liverpool’s Cavern Club, Abbey Road studios, and Shea Stadium. The nearby St Johns Beacon will also be transformed into a Yellow Submarine-themed tourist spot offering city views.
The project aims to create a tourist draw comparable to Elvis Presley’s Graceland and Dolly Parton’s Dollywood, capitalizing on renewed global interest expected after the film releases, according to ABC News.
