Nintendo launches new Pikmin shorts and updates for Pikmin Day
Nintendo celebrates first Pikmin Day with new shorts, Pikmin 4 updates, and Pikmin Bloom features.
Nintendo announced the first annual Pikmin Day to be held on November 1st, marking the occasion with several new releases and updates, The Verge reported.
As part of the Pikmin Day Direct presentation, Shigeru Miyamoto revealed new details about Pikmin 4 for the Switch 2, including a Dandori Academy mode featuring specific challenges and leaderboards for players to compare their stats.
Players will also be able to use the Switch 2's built-in microphone to issue voice commands to Oatchi, the space dog character in Pikmin 4, according to The Verge.
In addition, the mobile game Pikmin Bloom will introduce a new Secret Caves feature where players can battle enemies and find treasure by exploring caves.
Nintendo debuted the first episode of a new series of short films titled Hello! Pikmin, with a second episode set to premiere the following day and monthly episodes planned starting in December. These shorts follow the success of last year's Pikmin animation Close to You.
