A one-bedroom condo on the 23rd floor of San Francisco's Millennium Tower recently rented for $10,000 a month to an employee working in artificial intelligence, the San Francisco Standard reported.

The 773-square-foot unit was initially purchased for $660,000 in August by owners who then decided to rent it out a month later. The rental was first listed at $6,800, but eventually reached the $10,000 mark, according to agents Sean Mamola and Trista Bernasconi of Compass.

This rental price is notable as it is believed to be the first time a downtown San Francisco one-bedroom apartment has crossed into the five-digit rental range, the report said.

For context, the same unit's last asking rent in 2022 was $3,600, showing a significant increase over the past few years.
