Packers hopeful Micah Parsons will start practicing next week after knee injury
Packers coach Matt LaFleur expressed hope that Micah Parsons could begin practicing soon, marking progress in his recovery from a major knee injury.
Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons has not yet played in the 2026-27 season as he recovers from a significant left knee injury, according to Yahoo Sports.
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said in a recent news conference that Parsons might start practicing next week, expressing optimism about his return. LaFleur noted that the decision depends on medical evaluations but indicated a three-week practice window could open soon.
If Parsons begins practicing on Monday, November 2, it would be just over 10 months since he underwent ACL surgery on December 29. The Packers would then assess whether he is ready to play in upcoming games, including a potential debut against the New England Patriots or the Minnesota Vikings.
Meanwhile, the Packers are dealing with injuries on their offensive line. Center Sean Rhyan, who suffered a high-ankle sprain, might be placed on injured reserve, which would sideline him for at least four games. Backup center Jacob Monk is already on injured reserve due to a thigh injury. John Williams, who has not previously played center in college or the NFL, has filled in and performed well, though it is undecided if he will start against the Patriots.
LaFleur’s comments provide encouragement to Packers fans anticipating Parsons’ return, which would bolster the team’s defense after a challenging injury period.
