Mary Peltola's Senate campaign has filed a lawsuit in Alaska Superior Court against the Alaska Division of Elections, Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom, and Director of Elections Carol Beecher, according to the Washington Examiner.

The lawsuit alleges the state violated the Alaska Public Records Act by withholding records that identify voters whose absentee ballots were rejected. The campaign is seeking the absentee register showing whether each returned absentee ballot was accepted or rejected, along with reasons for any rejections.

The Hill reported that the campaign had requested these records multiple times before being denied access. The lawsuit comes as thousands of ballots remain outstanding in Alaska, including absentee ballots still arriving by mail and ballots flown in from remote communities.

This legal action is part of the ongoing vote count in one of the closest 2026 midterm races nationwide in Alaska.

Meanwhile, unrelated to the lawsuit, The Hill also noted that First Lady Melania Trump is attending a college football game as part of her education initiative.
