Rain expected in Los Angeles over Halloween weekend with cooler temperatures
A storm system will bring rain and cooler weather to Los Angeles from Friday through Sunday, possibly affecting Halloween activities.
The National Weather Service forecasts a dark and stormy Halloween weekend in Los Angeles, with rain expected from Friday through Sunday, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Rain will begin with isolated showers on Friday and intensify to a 70% chance of precipitation by Saturday evening through Sunday morning, with total rainfall likely between half an inch and an inch, meteorologist Ryan Kittell said.
Temperatures will be cooler than normal, with highs in the 60s along the coast and valleys. Mountain and foothill areas such as La Cañada and Azusa may receive rainfall amounts near the upper range of the forecast.
The rain is expected to peak between 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday, which could allow for lighter rain during earlier Halloween activities, though residents are advised to plan for rain throughout the evening.
Impacts from the storm are expected to be minimal, with potential for increased traffic and minor roadway flooding. The last recorded rain on Halloween in Los Angeles was in 2014, when a quarter-inch fell downtown.
