Reddit launches For You feed alongside Following feed to personalize content

Reddit has introduced a new homepage experience featuring two feed options: For You and Following, according to TechCrunch and The Verge.

The For You feed combines posts from communities users have joined with recommendations tailored to their interests, aiming to help users discover new communities and conversations they might not otherwise find.

The Following feed continues to show posts only from communities users have joined, maintaining the traditional Reddit experience.

This change aligns Reddit with other social platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, which use recommendation-driven feeds to shape user content.

Reddit stated the update is designed to foster connection, participation, and belonging, and users can switch between feeds, with the platform remembering their last choice.

Some users have expressed frustration during the initial testing phase, preferring the focused experience of the Following feed.

For those wanting the classic Reddit homepage experience with sorting options like best, hot, and new, Reddit continues to offer Old Reddit accessible via settings or old.reddit.com.
