Sacramento police are increasing security efforts in anticipation of a busy Halloween weekend, according to FOX40.

Local bars are also preparing for the influx of visitors and festivities expected during the holiday.

Residents described Halloween as a time for fun, but noted that in the Lavender Heights neighborhood, the day holds a more solemn significance this year due to a tragic incident last year.

Law enforcement and community members are working together to ensure safety while allowing residents to enjoy Halloween celebrations.
