San Diego's efforts to combat human trafficking are receiving a significant boost with $1.5 million in state funding secured by Assemblymember Tasha Boerner, FOX 5 San Diego reported.
The funds will support the San Diego Task Force on Human Trafficking in its mission to address an industry estimated to generate $800 million annually.
The task force uses these resources to assist law enforcement agencies in identifying and rescuing victims of human trafficking within the region.
This funding aims to enhance local capabilities to disrupt trafficking operations and provide critical support to those affected.
