A shopper was injured inside the Mall at Millenia in Orlando when a large holiday decoration fell from the ceiling, WKMG News 6 ClickOrlando reported. Witnesses described hearing a loud bang followed by commotion among shoppers.

The decoration, described as a massive metal star, struck a guest who was seen lying on the ground and receiving medical attention from paramedics, according to eyewitness Brittany Pinero. The injured person was transported to a hospital.

Mall officials confirmed the incident and said security and first responders quickly assisted the injured guest. The area where the decoration fell was closed off while the mall conducted a thorough review of the event.

The mall emphasized that the safety of guests, retailers, and employees remains its highest priority. No further details about the condition of the injured shopper were released.

The incident raised concerns among shoppers about the safety of decorations hanging overhead. Pinero expressed hope that the mall would reconsider or remove all hanging decorations to ensure visitor safety.
