A $50,000 reward has been approved by Governor Gavin Newsom to aid in solving the 2008 murder case of Darnell Smith in the Emerald Hills neighborhood of San Diego, FOX 5 San Diego reported.
Sheila Smith, the mother of the victim, continues to seek justice for her son, whose murder remains unsolved after more than a decade.
The reward aims to encourage anyone with information about the case to come forward and assist law enforcement in identifying those responsible for the crime.
This development renews hope for the family and the community that the case could finally see progress after years of inactivity.
