Target updates SoHo store and fan shops with local themes and affordable items
Target emphasizes affordability and local merchandising in SoHo and fan shops ahead of holidays.
Target has refreshed its SoHo store and fan shops with a focus on localized presentations, which the retailer calls its “merchandising authority,” according to Retail Dive.
Nearly 90% of items in the fan gear shops are priced under $50, highlighting Target’s emphasis on affordability, which is already boosting sales volumes, Jefferies analysts noted last month.
Tariff refunds are enabling Target to fund value initiatives, potentially leading to increased market share and improved sales and margins, Jefferies analyst Corey Tarlowe said.
The SoHo store features spaces inspired by New York City, such as the Bullseye Loft for home goods, Balance Mart for men’s grooming and wellness products, and a snack bar reflecting neighborhood businesses with grab-and-go items from emerging brands.
Target is in a turnaround phase after losing some of its “cheap chic” appeal, with recent leadership changes and new merchandising strategies aimed at strengthening performance in the fourth quarter holiday season.
