Outgoing Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller has called for the immediate resignation of Republican Party of Texas Chair D’Rinda Randall after Republicans lost every statewide race on the ballot in the recent midterm elections, according to ktre.com and fox26houston.com.

The midterms saw Democrats win every statewide race, flip the Texas House of Representatives, and gain a majority on the State Board of Education, ending decades of Republican control in Texas, fox26houston.com reported.

Miller described the election results as a "political catastrophe" and criticized Randall for not accepting responsibility for the party's failures, according to both sources. He said he had warned Randall about voter frustrations related to rising property taxes, insurance premiums, gasoline prices, and other issues affecting farmers, ranchers, and small-business owners.

Miller also highlighted disagreements with Randall over campaign priorities, noting she focused on social issues while he urged attention to concerns like data centers and transmission lines. He emphasized that conservative values can be defended while addressing property and utility concerns.

Randall responded to the election night results by congratulating Republican candidates who won and acknowledging losses, stating the party would reflect, learn, and rebuild, fox26houston.com reported.

Miller said he plans to travel across Texas to meet voters and believes the state remains conservative despite the election outcomes, according to ktre.com.
