Trump criticizes LeBron James for actions during US national anthem

US President Donald Trump criticized NBA player LeBron James for what he described as disrespectful behavior during the US national anthem at a recent NBA game, according to cp24.com and Al Jazeera English.

Trump shared a video on Truth Social showing James moving his arms in a warm-up style and performing shooting movements while standing with the Philadelphia 76ers during the anthem. He called on James to apologize to American warriors and heroes who died for the country.

A representative for the Philadelphia 76ers did not immediately respond to requests for comment, as reported by both outlets.

Trump has a history of criticizing athletes for their conduct during the national anthem, notably beginning with NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick's kneeling protests for racial justice. He also canceled a planned White House visit by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018 over anthem-related disagreements.

LeBron James has been an outspoken supporter of progressive causes and the Black Lives Matter movement, and he is the NBA's all-time leading scorer, according to the reports.
