President Donald Trump is set to host a roundtable at the White House aimed at combating the growing threat of cybercrime targeting American families and seniors, according to The Hill. The administration is focusing on foreign-based organized criminal organizations that exploit Americans online, as reported by wsyr.iheart.com and newstalk1090.iheart.com.

The effort targets a $50 billion threat to American families and businesses by disrupting transnational fraud networks. Actions include seizing over 500 fraudulent cryptocurrency investment websites and freezing approximately $833 million in cryptocurrency tied to overseas scam centers, according to wsyr.iheart.com and newstalk1090.iheart.com.

The Homeland Security Task Force has also identified and warned nearly 9,000 Americans who were actively being victimized, preventing an estimated $562 million in losses. The roundtable will address various cybercrimes such as ransomware attacks, phishing campaigns, sextortion schemes, and financial frauds, with seniors, children, and low-income families disproportionately targeted, as detailed by wsyr.iheart.com.

This event follows a March executive order by Trump directing the Justice Department to prioritize the identification and prosecution of online scammers. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, FBI Director Kash Patel, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Todd Blanche are expected to attend, according to wsyr.iheart.com and newstalk1090.iheart.com.

The White House stated that President Trump is unleashing every available tool to stop foreign-based organized criminal organizations that exploit Americans in cyberspace, underscoring the administration's commitment to protecting citizens from cyber threats, as reported by The Hill.
