Two teenagers killed in Halloween shooting at Spartanburg Cook Out
Two teens died and a third was injured in a Halloween night shooting at a Spartanburg restaurant, police said.
Two teenagers were fatally shot in the parking lot of a Cook Out restaurant on John B. White Sr. Boulevard in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on Halloween night, WBTV reported. The shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m., with multiple shots fired according to WHNS, a sister station.
The victims, aged 15 and 17, were taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center where they died, WBTV said. A third person was also shot but was expected to survive, though their age was not disclosed.
Spartanburg Police Chief Art Littlejohn told WHNS the victims were young people out for Halloween activities and described the shooting as an act of irresponsibility. No arrests had been made as of Sunday morning, and police were seeking information from the public.
This incident occurred in Spartanburg, which is outside the Charlotte metropolitan area. WBTV noted that local weather in Charlotte would remain in the 70s with some rain chances this week, but the shooting itself does not directly affect the Charlotte area.
Authorities continue to investigate the case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Spartanburg Police Department.
