United flight returns to Las Vegas after passenger disturbance, no injuries
United Flight 1681 from Las Vegas to Newark returned shortly after takeoff due to a passenger disturbance, causing delays but no injuries.
A United Airlines flight traveling from Las Vegas to Newark was forced to return to Las Vegas shortly after takeoff due to a passenger disturbance, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal and reports from multiple iHeartRadio stations.
United Flight 1681, a Boeing 737 carrying 150 passengers and six crew members, initially departed at 10:37 p.m. on October 24 but returned to Harry Reid International Airport at 11:42 p.m. The flight was delayed overnight because the crew reached their maximum allowable working hours, known as a crew timeout.
The flight departed again at 7 a.m. the following day and landed in Newark around 3 p.m. Eastern time, as reported by AOL. No injuries were reported among passengers or crew during the incident.
KLAS confirmed the flight returned due to a passenger disturbance, but it remains unclear if any arrests were made. Attempts to get comments from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and FBI were unsuccessful.
