VantageScore CEO Silvio Tavares steps down, Anthony Hutchinson named interim leader
Silvio Tavares leaves after five years; board begins search for permanent CEO with Hutchinson as interim.
VantageScore announced that its president and CEO Silvio Tavares is stepping down after five years leading the credit scoring company, HousingWire reported. The board appointed Anthony Hutchinson as interim CEO and has started a formal search for a permanent successor.
The board credited Tavares with leading the company’s growth and strengthening its position in the credit scoring industry. Under his leadership, VantageScore more than tripled its market presence and achieved widespread adoption in the U.S. mortgage credit-scoring market.
Tavares expressed pride in the company’s growth and efforts to expand access to credit, noting that millions more creditworthy Americans can now pursue homeownership.
Hutchinson, with over 30 years of experience in housing finance and public policy, previously held senior roles at Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and the National Association of Realtors. He plans to build on VantageScore’s momentum and continue expanding adoption of its credit scoring models, especially VantageScore 4.0, which has gained traction since FHFA approved its use by lenders.
The Federal Housing Finance Agency’s recent announcements support the use of VantageScore models in mortgage lending, indicating a favorable environment for Hutchinson’s leadership during the transition.
