Walmart launches $120 membership combining Walmart+ and Sam’s Club benefits
Walmart offers a combined Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus membership for $120 a year, saving customers nearly $100 annually.
Walmart has introduced a new joint membership that combines Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus for $120 annually, according to CBS News. This combined membership saves customers about $100 compared to buying the two memberships separately.
The membership provides access to members-only discounted prices at Sam’s Club, free delivery on goods from both Walmart and Sam’s Club, a streaming subscription plan (Peacock or Paramount+), 10 cents off per gallon on gas at 17,000 U.S. stations, and rewards on eligible purchases, CBS News reported.
Walmart CEO John Furner described the membership as raising expectations by delivering more savings and convenience for customers. Existing Walmart+ members can upgrade to the combined membership for an additional $22 per year, while Sam’s Club members can upgrade to Sam’s Club Plus with Walmart+ included for $60 more annually, NBC12 reported.
The move comes amid ongoing inflation concerns, with Walmart investing in price cuts across various products to attract price-conscious shoppers, CBS News noted. The Consumer Price Index rose 3.7% annually in September, highlighting inflation pressures.
Walmart and Sam’s Club field associates in the U.S. receive the combined membership as part of their benefits, according to NBC12. Customers already paying for both memberships can link their accounts to access the combined benefits without extra cost, Live 5 WCSC reported.
