WNBA Finals Game 6 moved to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at State Farm Arena
Game 6 between Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries will tip off earlier Thursday at State Farm Arena, with Hawks adjusting game time.
The WNBA Finals Game 6 between the Atlanta Dream and the Golden State Valkyries will be played at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at State Farm Arena, according to FOX 5 Atlanta and Atlanta News First. The game was originally scheduled for 8 p.m. but was moved to accommodate more fans and promotional efforts.
To allow for the earlier start, the Atlanta Hawks have moved their regular-season game against the Cleveland Cavaliers to 8 p.m. Thursday, as reported by both FOX 5 Atlanta and Atlanta News First. This is the second time the Hawks have adjusted their game time to support the Dream's Finals schedule.
Playing at State Farm Arena allows the Dream to host over 17,000 fans, a significant increase from their usual Gateway Center Arena capacity of about 3,500. Tickets went on sale Monday at 4 p.m., with prices ranging from $139 to nearly $3,000, and over 50,000 people queued for tickets, Atlanta News First reported.
The series is tied at two games apiece, with Game 5 scheduled for 8 p.m. Monday in San Francisco. The game will be broadcast on USA Network and streamed on Peacock, maintaining its original coverage despite the time change, FOX 5 Atlanta noted.
Dream players expressed excitement about playing at State Farm Arena and emphasized their focus on winning the championship regardless of the game time, according to Atlanta News First. All of the Dream's 2027 home games will also be held at State Farm Arena.
