A 22-year-old woman faces felony charges after threatening a Dollar General manager with a handgun in North Charleston.
A 22-year-old woman was arrested in North Charleston after allegedly threatening to shoot the manager of a Dollar General store, according to the North Charleston Police Department (NCPD).
Officers responded to the Dollar General on Northbrook Boulevard around 3:30 p.m. on November 4 following reports of a disturbance involving a firearm. The store manager told police she was assisting customers when the woman entered and began arguing with her, accusing the manager of making a negative comment.
The manager denied the accusation and attempted to walk away, but the woman reportedly followed her around the store before reaching into a bookbag and threatening, "I'll shoot you." When officers arrived, the woman admitted to having her husband's handgun in her possession.
Police recovered a 9mm handgun from the bookbag and charged the woman with first-degree assault and battery, a felony that carries a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison. She was taken to the Al Cannon Detention Center.
