Conde Nast Traveler highlighted 15 of the most spectacular marathon courses around the world for 2027, emphasizing how destination races are growing in popularity and offering unique experiences.

One featured race is the Rock 'n' Roll Taitung in Taiwan on March 13, 2027, which includes half marathon, 10K, and 3.5K distances. This music-themed event features live bands and DJs along a flat course between mountains and the Pacific Ocean, with nearby luxury hotels like the Sheraton Taitung Hotel and Formosan Naruwan Hotel.

Another notable race is the Big Sur International Marathon in California on April 25, 2027. This marathon and several shorter distance options run along the scenic Highway 1 from Big Sur to Carmel, offering ocean views and a six-hour time limit. It is also a Boston qualifier race, suitable for groups with varying running goals.

These races showcase how running can be a way to explore new destinations, offering participants a chance to see local communities and landscapes beyond typical tourist experiences.
